Hello, my name is Tim Taylor.
I live with my family in the traditional territory of the Malahat nation, in the village of Shawnigan Lake, Vancouver Island, BC, Canada.
I am a father of two children, a retired volunteer first responder, and recovering software developer.
I have been in and out of counselling for years; however, my personal healing journey got serious in 2015 when I was introduced to “men’s work” and support circles.
I had been struggling with low self-esteem, addictive behaviours, and was stuck seeking external validation for others. I continued to struggle and after burning out from work, I was diagnosed with PTSD in 2020.
In 2021, a therapist said to me “you don’t need any more help because you know what to do, so do it”.
I had felt crushed because at the time I was struggling just to get out of bed. I decided I needed a way to go deeper if I wanted to find some peace from my suffering.
A few weeks later, I made a brief reconnection with a brother who was in Clearmind’s PRAC counsellor training program. I was so curious about his transformation, that I signed up for the online Awakening weekend workshop. In that space, I felt safe enough to allow myself to enter a process where I was able to find forgiveness for myself and others involved in a violent assault that I was victim to.
I found a passion for finding ways to convert my pain and trauma into wisdom. My path has been hard. I stumble and fall down often; however, I trust that I can get back to what is most important.
I would love a chance to offer a safe space for you to bring your struggles into, so you may discover what you need to find for your own healing to happen.
I am passionate about making peace as a priority in my life, which is why I support organizations like Doctors Without Borders and World Beyond War. I also am a student of Aikido, which allows me to practice humility and resilience.
